Is anyone interested on how the Darkin came to be or like where the neck the other 2 are?! We do know about Varus, Aatrox and Rhaast (Rhaast came from Kayn).
We already have the info about how the darkin were created. And no, Rhaast didn't come from Kayn.
Shurima also have their own ascended just like mount targon. Here are some examples :

During the void wars the shuriman ascended had to fight their horrors, and that made them turn crazy and lose some of their reason due to the void corruption and the atrocities they saw. Even if they won the war, the corruption was having a heavy toll on them and since they also lost their leader Azir. They just started fighting among themselves which also led to a lot of bloodshed and craziness. The shuriman ascended also discovered how to use blood magic, and used it to shape their bodies and armor to be stronger (this is why their forms may be a little weird and their color is red).
Humans were powerless against them so the aspect of the twilight (Zoe) showed them a way to seal them inside their own weapons. That's how the darkins we know came to be.
So right now, they are basically living weapons that can't do anything on their own. But if a human touch them, they take control of his body and then reshape it with blood magic to ressemble their old form as much as they can. They had many hosts during history before reaching the present day. The host either die in combat or they die after a while because human bodies can't stand the reshaping and they end up breaking apart.
Aatrox's worst nightmare is that his host would die in a place far from wars/fighting so he would just fall under a rock (he is just a sword) so nobody would notice him ever again. His sword have no eye, so he just falls into the darkness waiting forever once he lose his host...
Aatrox is a prime example of a body that have been completely taken over and that have been reshaped like his old form.
Kayn is an example of a human with a very strong will that is resisting Rhaast's corruption and control (which is why only half of him have been reshaped).
Once sealed, they were scattered around runeterra so that if some of them get freed, they won't immediately free all of their friends. We already know that the fourth one were freed before varus and is roaming runeterra somewhere. Because Varus went to save her but she wasn't there when he arrived (yeah, it's a she).
There recently has been a leak that riot is making a new champ! The armored looks simeler do a Darkin's armor!
If you're talking about the girl with a huge canon behind her back. She seemed like a normal shuriman girl with normal red clothes (her canon and eyes look like hextech). I don't see how does that look like darkin armor? Or is there another leak I missed?
