Thank you Riot
After seeing the new cinematic for Season 10 it reminds me of how much I love this company for all they do for us. They could be this company that refuses to expand outside of their game and focus on only a single media form. But they don't. They want to strive for better things.
Their expansion into other forms of media is absolutely incredible. I could show these cinematics and music videos that they've produced to ANYONE and they can find interest in it. The animation could easily be mistaken as being created by juggernauts such as Pixar and Disney, only to find out that it's produced by this game company that started from a mod of another game.
I find myself asking why I keep coming back to this game that drags so much emotion out of me, and I think its because of the consistent quality that Riot continues to provide. I feel as though they're the only game company currently out there that has expanded THIS far into other forms of media. Blizzard has definitely taken their steps towards it, but not to the level of Riot. I've been playing League since mid Season 2 and it's amazing to me watching their continued growth from what I remember originally seeing from this game. No matter how mad their game makes me or how often I stop playing because I lose interest for a little while, I don't care how unbalanced their game can be, it always drags me back.
This doesn't mean League doesn't have flaws. There have been times where I sincerely question what the decision making was, but what games don't have these sorts of flaws? But that will never stop me from loving what Riot has made. I trust Riot to fix what's broken and make the best decisions for the game that they've made.
8 years of my life I've been off and on playing League and to say it hasn't had a major impact on me as a person is just incorrect. I've made and lost friends, gotten angry, and have experienced some of my happiest moments with this game. And I am more than proud to say that League of Legends is my favorite game I've ever played and will always have a place in my life.
Call this a dick sucking post or what you will. But some of you are so blinded by anger you refuse to see what this game really means to some of us. Here's to another successful decade for League and Riot.
