Possible Kled Lore Theory
Hey Guys,
I've gotten a bit of an _idea _ for what this new champion Kled's backstory will be. Not suggesting I pieced together most of what the champion has to offer as a concept, but based off the teasers I made a big theory on where and what Kled may be.
For those of you who have yet to see the video, the teaser acknowledges the fact that this is a reunion which infers that this is not their first time meeting (obviously). But, what people may not notice is the following big details immediately.
Firstly, Kled in my theory is from BILGEWATER , a place that doesn't have many champions spanning from it and has been needing a couple to stay relevant with the other lands associated with League's vast lore. I would doubt that he could originate from NOXUS based off the following: 1. The soldiers you witness being decimated in some sort of dry, mountainous region. 2. The words "You're trespassing" as the final words of a soldier. 3. The posters you may have already heard about.
I feel lucky enough to be able to at least assume I made this theory the most developed as I only just recognized the patterns in these teasers. Anyways, let me explain.
Firstly, the soldiers adorn a sort of iron armor that is mostly the identifying piece of Noxian soldiers and considering that the Immortal Bastion is depicted in landscapes we know that Kled has entered Noxian territory for this magical beast. Why? Well, the point is rather obvious really. During a battle between NOXUS versus BILGEWATER, which we can also assume was initiated by those affiliated with BILGEWATER, Kled witnessed a beast that caught his eyes; something that he wanted for his own. It couldn't possibly have been his own originally since it was referred to as the Noxus Pride and if it was, this could explain the bond developed between the two: Kled and his mount.
Perhaps the bounty is more like a missing poster for his mount (Kled's mount). In the three posters revealed to the community, one portrays outrage that a beast like his ran away, the next showing his memories of what the beast is like, while the third is acknowledging the power the mount possesses.
But this couldn't be..
The image saying he is an ungrateful scoundrel may in fact be Kled calling it out on running from him, saying he wants it. The second image I refer to asks for the saddle, thusly suggesting that Kled had never ridden the poor thing before. Not only that, but Kled has an affiliation with Sion, letting us know that Kled, a pirate yordle, has survived a confrontation with Sion and perhaps even Swain. Swain is the only one who can control Sion, so now we already know that Kled has a big name in NOXUS for surviving a battle with the one who slayed Jarvan the First .
We now can also put together that this river battle was either an engagement issued by NOXUS due to the possible involvement of Sion, or that it was a raid by people affiliated with this cocky, rambunctious yordle Kled. The mount is presumably a beast that caught the eye of the plunderer who then seeks it out with the Wanted Posters, issuing bounties to have it as it's own mount. The beast is depicted as not very bright, focusing on whatever is in its vision by literally running straight. The video is a reunion awhile past the river battle and Kled has finally decided that it was time to take the beast by force, hence the trespassing accusation.
Whether this has enough merit or not or if I am not one of the first to explain as much as I could on the idea, I do feel I've at least scratched some sort of piece to the champion's past before it even releases. Please let me know if I missed any key factors in my theory or if I have a couple holes. I just pieced this together this hour after I realized some things with it.
Reasons Why Kled couldn't be a Noxian: 1. He put a bounty on a Noxus prized possession. 2. He is trespassing lands that appear to be the outskirts of Noxus. 3. He just decimated dozens of soldiers over an arm-less lizard!!!
Kled, on my theory, is an infamous pirate who enjoys causing mayhem across the seas. Since Gangplank is in a reboot for his dominance and thirst for vengeance, maybe we can also say that Kled here made a big name for himself during that span or already possessed his own titles through his long life. This fits in well with more on Gangplank's and Miss Fortune's lores as well since Kled can be supported by even plot on why he needs a mount such as this one; he is either fighting or running from all sorts of enemies and he surely isn't a coward, based off one of his Wanted Posters. Kled hates running from a battle and enjoys the thrills a fight brings, thus he would benefit from a mount that can withstand ranged attacks, hinting a tanky bruiser.
Next, I also believe that this beastly yordle is in fact in some way related to everyone's favorite, orange fur ball Gnar. Other yordles are not with the entire facial appearance like this one has, so perhaps Gnar is some sort or variation of the Yordle race, which originally had a rage trait. Every single spec of a champion is made precisely how it is intended at that given point and if a small white fur ball with the traits of Gnar is what we have here, we don't have to be nervous to admit there is a thin line being crossed between same kind of yordle and relations in bloodline.
