That artifact's coloring and glow sure looks familiar....and then 3 stars light up when it activates

If so, Bard is a bit of a dick. A well meaning dick.

Given how it's been described as an egg it could maybe be the egg of a celestial dragon? Dunno. The egg's definetly tied with both Bard and Aurelion though just because of the celestial connection, although how strong that tie is is debatable.

Though I think it was unrelated to Aurelion Sol, it could be another one of the Star Gems, which also are part of Aurelions Crown. Not a gem of his crown of course, but the same material. Aurelion came to Runeterra, because he felt that the mind-control power of his crown decayed.

I agree when looking at Aurelion Sol splash art on the bottom right it looks like the mountain Bard was on so I feel that he was the guardian of his egg and when he teleported out Aurelion Sol came in because it looks like the soldiers that raided the village on the top of the mountain in his splash art.
