Galio Lore / New Lore(s) / Why? / Is this really needed? / Lazy Writing

Hmm,

So I am not a hard core player of this game however I do enjoy it and did spend time last year getting to level 30.

What I do (and still do) love is creative back story and character depth. What I do miss about modern Hollywood including new Starwars / Marvel / DC / movies in general is deep motivating well flushed out humanity and conflict that drives me to care and feel for the creations of the mind which help me to escape my otherwise boring and sub par life.

So when I found Galio two years ago, I couldn't put him down. I love Gargoyles with a passion. I went to school for Art / History and Literature and focused a majority of my junior year on the dark ages - romance period. I have always had a thing for Esmerelda and been a big fan of the movie Hunchback of Notre Dame.

And immediately I mastered Galio when mastery was available. Sona was my first main because I bought her DJ skin when I created my account but Galio was the first champion to make me want to keep playing to the point of neglecting my work and studies.

This is why I am creating this post now, I noticed in the past these reworks come with "newer , more lazy, and far less thought up lores" and honestly when I was told a rumor of Galio being reworked I never thought his story would get changed as well.

What was wrong with it?

Now it is dull ... now it makes him seem like a big dumb magical wall.

I used to think how cool it was, the loyalty of a Gollum / Gargoyle created by some mysterious wizard yet to be flushed out into the lore.

The idea of until the last breath but in a Golem. Poppy a lonely warier headed to Damancia stumbling (as if by Fate!) upon a statue only to have her Hammers magic somehow reawaken Galio and give him a new purpose to guard Damacia from the evil magics of Runterra and swear aligeince to the bitter end protecting his new friend Poppy!

Now he is just some dumb over sized tower that only wakes up when magic approaches....

It's pathetic.

I could care less about the fact you changed all of his abilities (Even if his ult LITERALLY turned him into stone which was AWESOME) ...

but why did you have to water down such a creative lore?

I recognize you could care less about me but still I feel the need to vent and seek any others out there who may also relate and or feel the same about their favorite champions which may have already or may soon be next to the chopping block....

I am sad. Also I find the new reworked in game grafix to be an eyesore but eben this I do not care about as much as the fact his lore was actually something I had anchored into my heart and grown to love.

Truly, I feel a bit violated inside because I really loved the story of loyalty and friendship which now has been thrown aside for what seems to be a single minded linier focus on professional gameplay at the stake of everything else.

TL;DR

Old Galio Lore had depth and was a tale of loyalty and friendship which inspired me and made me wish to be a better human being.

New Galio lore is stale, lazy, and uninspiring.
