I was wondering when someone would post this. The new Trist/Nid/Trundle splashes are coming along nicely. Can't wait to show them to you guys! Trundle will likely be the first batch released.

The purpose is to have a skin that resembles what the old champion used to look like, pre-rework. Not to have intentionally low quality art. The in-game skin looks like a updated version of old trundle and the new splash should as well.

Sure Does. Well all of his skin splashes except, special forces, Sultan, and Captain are on the list for reworks. GP isn't super high on the priority list for the reasons you mentioned above but he is on the list non then less. :)

Were all the champions that are having splash arts replaced with Chinese art VU'd at some point in the past? Or are some of these Chinese arts going to stick around forever cause some champs didn't get the VU treatment and thus maybe don't warrant a complete overhaul in the eyes of Riot? I'm wondering because I'm not much of a fan of the Ahri or Crimson Akali changes. :(

Once we get through all the previous VU'd champs we would certainly open the conversation about going through and updating other champions splash art that didn't receive VU's.

The Chinese Splash art had nothing to do with champions that were VU'd in the past.

I'm curious, the fact that a champion is on the list for a skin splash rework doesn't necessarily mean that all of their splashes will be updated, correct? Like for each of the champions you listed, skins that came out in the last year or two wouldn't need to be updated because they are already high quality right? (DJ Sona, Arcade MF, those Bilgewater skins from last year, etc.)

That is correct. Only the low quality splash art would be updated.

Will you guys be putting them out as whole bundles (The entirety of the updated splashes you did for one champion all at once) or as groups when they're complete (Some updated splashes from various champions who're finished now and ready to go)? Or maybe a bit of both?

For Trist/Trundle/Nidalee they will come out with all the champions splash art at once. Others might come out more piecemeal, as there are some almost finished splash art we have internally before we started on the Trist/Trundle/Nid ones.

For example, we have a half way finished Night Raven Fiora Splash which we were going to finish we got around to updating Fiora's old splash art. Given the current situation we might bump that one up in priority and release it alone.

Can you say whether or not Festival Kassadin in particular is being updated? The skin is neat, the splash as you know is.... old. :p

please please please please dont change the splash art for Royal Guard, that is literally one of the prettiest pieces in the whole game, if you change it, it has to look a lot better, like absolutely perfect.

I'm a bit surprised that Morgana is on this list,despite the fact that she didn't get a VU(she only got a texture rebalance).

Let me fix some of the champions: Annie 6 - If I remember correctly Reav3 mentioned somewhere that Goth Annie doesn't need an update Garen 5 - Steel Legion Garen is already on par with the current art style Nasus 4 - Infernal Nasus is already on par with the current art style Sona 4 - Group Splashes don't count Fiora 2 - I think Headmistress Fiora is fine as it is

Annie 7 - Since Goth was drawn before her VU, I think it could look better. Garen 4 - Dreadknight is also fine. Nasus 3 - Pharaoh is also fine Sona 4 - I was referencing Arcade Fiora 3 - It could look better, since Fiora got a major model change.

Hey! I noticed Master Yi isn't on the list. It's not super low quality, but it has always been a pet peeve for me that his base splash has ENTIRELY different armor and clothes than the in-game model. Wouldn't his classic splash, at least, fall under the goals of this update-project?

Warwick is high on the potential VGU list, so we probably wouldn't go through and update all his splashes before that. If we did, then we would have to redo them all again when he gets a VGU.

Because we already have one that is like 80% complete from awhile ago. It's in a similar state to the Irelia and Swain ones, just needs to be finished. We would like to finish all of these in the near(ish) future.

I'm really curious why Master Yi got an update to his classic splash art about 6 months before his VU. He had his old one at first, of course, that has since been long forgotten (to be fair, it has a lot of years under its belt). Then he got a new, epic looking splash art (the one we have to this day). And then he got a visual update.

The thing that's been bugging me for nearly three years now is that when Yi was updated, he got a little more armor, specifically on the upper part of his body, and he trimmed his long beard (which isn't even visible in-game anymore) - yet the same splash was and has been used for years! The long beard and less dressed for combat splash art was apparently good enough post-update.

Seems like I'm the only one who looked at the updated Yi's in-game appearance and thought: "I want a new splash art for this."
