Map of Runeterra

i had a question about the exploration map of Runeterra. Between Noxus and Demacia and below Freljord there is an area that isnt claimed by anyone, and even if you zoom in there is only a couple of pins of the gate of morning and Nockmirch. i was wondering what was there or is it an area still open for new lore?

It's open but Noxus and Demacia fought in that area (see "For Demacia" story for reference) in the past. I think is a sort of buffer zone.
