okay, so, obviously this is a risky thing, but i've been writing for about ~3 years now? nothing big or professional or... even finished, but still i know a thing or two.

So! as any nerds may of guessed from the title im thinking riot should release something along the lines of the Silmarillion, which was a book by Tolkien that was nothing but the history, mythos, and lore of Middle-Earth. And i think that creating something like this for the world of Runeterra would be really great for

  1. solidifing the universe

  2. really getting into the meat of the universe

  3. Answering questions easily.

Now im sure the answers too things like where xin zhao came from, what caused the rune wars (not sure if those are still canon or not) and the minutia of different in game cultures, like, what is the main export of Bandle City, Do they even use currency? How advanced is Piltover in comparison to say Demacia, What's the justice system in all of the country's, if i kill someone in Noxus is there a punishment? In ionia how important is tradition and formality, what are the main means of transportation from one country to the next? What's the history of each of the countries, what're the major religions? Who is the king of Demacia? How long had the Black Rose been in control of Noxus, Where did Noxus and Demacia come from, who founded them, What sparked this eternal rivalry between the two places? Bard, Soraka, Kindred, These great and powerful celestial beings, are there religions surrounding them? Are they mortal? (ok well, we know bard isnt but still)

Making something like this gives lore loving fans something really juciy to sink their literary teeth into, also it makes creating new things easier because its easier to create for a solidifed universe than a nebulous one. right?

Anyway i'd love to see what everyone else thinks about this, and actually.. riot might be doing this as i post this so who knows? Anyway im just spitballing, but i cant wait for the day that we get some stable canon
