About Ezreal's bio update & old lore pieces

As someone who gets really into the lore of games - and someone who really, really loves the vast lore and tales of Runeterra, naturally I've been hanging out for the new Piltover and Zaun lore as they're the homes of my mains! Hard to not be excited with how amazing some of the lore updates have been so far.

I'm just wondering a few things about my boy Ezreal though. There wasn't really much mention of his magic in his bio, where as the old ones used to quite directly say that he was born with magic. It kind of sounds like he's still using the gauntlet to amplify his own power in The Elixer of Uloa - "...concentrate all my energy into the gem. I feel it drawing power from me." - but there's not really a clear mention of his sorcery in the updated bio. The gauntlet is said to allow teleportation, it's not quite stated whether firing attacks from it is due to his magic or another trick from the glove. It's not something I'd think would be removed from his character, just seems odd that it was so left out. He's also pretty much the only Piltovian champion with no mention of Zaun in his bio, when it feels like he'd be the first to wander down to Zaun.

Also, I know the Institute of War and all isn't canon, but does that go for everything that isn't on universe? Such as Ezreal's investigations in An Ancient Mystery in Runeterra?

I haven't heard about a chat with the devs thing for Piltover yet, which would be the best place to ask about this stuff, so for now I guess I'll try my luck here. I'm a huge fan of the Piltover changes so far!
