So I was looking through my discount shop when I noticed Dragon Trainer Lulu skin "on sale" for 50% off.

$5 USD = 650 RP $10 USD = 1380 RP

The skin is normally 1375 RP ($10) but its sale price is 675 RP. So how can Riot claim the skin is 50% off when you still have to spend the full $10 to buy it?

The reason why you get 1380 for spending $10 is from a little bit of bonus RP for purchasing something else besides $5 of RP. You normally would get 1300 for $10 if it wasn't for that bonus, so $5=650 650x2=1300. The skin itself is 1350 normally, so 50% of that would indeed be 675. There is nothing wrong with the pricing for the skins, the reason why it looks that way is due to that bonus RP mentioned earlier.

I'm really confused. It's half the RP cost, thus the 50%. What does buying RP have to do with anything?

You are literally spending less RP on the skin, thus the discount.

1350/2 = 675

It's a discount on the RP prices. However much RP you buy is an entirely separate transaction

The point is you still have to spend $10 to buy the $5 skin, regardless of the excess RP you end up getting. No one should have to spend twice the worth of a skin to get the one skin they want.

It's a common practice to get you to pay more than you normally would when purchasing an item. The extra rp then encourages you to spend more in the future as to not waste it.

Manipulative? Yep! Although, now that it's everywhere, we've grown used to the pain.

Are you for real?? The difference in RP price is for the bonus RP you get which is explicitly stated with each purchase The price is half the RP cost which it actually is

This is no different than weekly 50% off sales. You are just noticing the RP thing now?

First of all: WRONG BOARD

second: You can ask for those 25 rp extra that you need if you send a ticket.

??

you buy $10 worth of rp and spend it on the normal price so you have alot less left over

you buy $10 worth of rp and spend it on the 50% off price and you have alot more rp left over

how is that a scam?
