[Gameplay] Game Does Not Auto Switch to best Resolution for Monitor

Okay so I got a new monitor on Black Friday.

New monitor has 1920x1080 resolution compared to my old monitor's 1440x900. Going in-game gives me a black screen since my new monitor no longer supports the older resolution, and I cannot change the resolution anywhere but in-game which is impossible to navigate through a black screen.

Why doesn't the game automatically adjust to new resolutions? For that matter why isn't there a way to change the in-game screen resolution OUTSIDE OF THE BLOODY GAME? We shouldn't have to uninstall/reinstall the game just to update the screen resolution for a new monitor.
