Why give champions the same skin over and over?

Sorry if I’m missing the point or something here correct me if I do

But why why why does riot give skins to champions who have a lot of skins already? Like why? Champs like udyr, xerath, ornn, Zac, skarner, those people

I can understanding not giving udyr a skin because dude needs a serious model update but come on udyr’s model is as old as jax’s Model and god staff doesn’t look that bad so I don’t understand why udyr can have another skin

And if riot does decide to give skins to unpopular champs don’t make it half ass like mecha asol or dunkmaster Ivern if u enjoy those skins I’m not gonna judge u but imo those skins suck

And what about ornn he’s been out for 2 years now I believe and still has no skin while lux gets like the 13th skin and a prestige in the span of 4 months, same with kaisa, ezreal, and pyke

It just annoys me how I see the same champs get skin every damn year while other champs don’t get a skin or a half assed skin

They give skins to the community favourite champs.

Why spend thousands if pounds making a skin that only a million people would buy when you can spend the same amount on a skin 10 million people would buy?

Also Mecha Asol was an amazing skin :( And dunkmaster ivern catches just how goofy its champion is

Dark Star Shaco was pretty neat. I'd say he was worth the wait.

Papercraft Nunu & Willump was also very cute and well worth the wait IMO.

Dunkmaster Ivern and Mecha Aurelion Sol just depend on preference, really.

Dragon Trainer Heim was a very popular community concept and I'm so happy it was his first skin in 4 years.

Pulsefire Shen is pretty cool.

There is also the difficulty and number of changes needed. For some champions, you alter a particle effect, and that is it, For others, it's not only particles, but actual objects and textures

Take Jinx vs Taliyah

Jinx has, bullets, traps, and a rocket

Taliyah has, Her passive, her thrown rocks, her tilled earth, her push up, her rock mines, and of course, a wall that actually has to look good.

I mean, popularity is also a big thing, but there is definitely a scale of work to profit as well. And it sucks, really does, but that is how it'll work

Even if I'd vote at least one in a bunch was an old / lack of skins champion just to compensate the sixteenth Annie/Ahri/Kai'Sai/Jinx etc.

Simply because of money.

Because skins on popular champions sell.

Compare Yasuo, Akali, Irelia, Riven, and Lux to other champions such as Malphite, Ornn, Rammus, Blitzcrank, and other not-as-popular champions. The former get skins because everyone and their mother mains them, while only your veteran grandpa on life support play the latter. It's a shame too, since making a 975/750 tier skin on them shouldn't be too hard, but 1350 tier skins are the moneymakers.
