Is it Rengar that is hunting Gnar in this story? if it is did Gnar travel to Ixtal or did Rengar travel to freljord? its probably not Rengar maybe it was intended to be back when Gnar was released but i just dont see how they can link up now days. Just wondering.

You're right, it's an old story but that doesn't immediately make it non-canon.

It's implied that Rengar is the narrator, he also narrated the new Kha'Zix Color Story. As to who went where, I guess Gnar ended up in the Jungle somehow?

Well... yordles have magical portals that let them travel between places of Runeterra... so, that could explain why Gnar is in Kumungu.

That's probably the most likely explanation if this story is still canon; again, it only makes me sadder that the Bandle City update was so small this year, because we don't know how "up-to-date" Gnar can be on the state of Yordles now that he's woken up. Have other Yordles found him yet? Can he still use portals? Is he even old enough (by Yordle standards) to know how to use them?

Also, most of the Bandle City spirits (except Pix, since he's more of a primordial spirit of that area of the Spirit Realm) are exaggerated, eccentric reflections of the mortal world outside. Since times have changed since Gnar reflected the not-as-civilized Freljordians of the time of Lissandra's rule, now that he's awake, would he "change" at all in response to that? Would he continue reflecting the current Freljordians? Or would he just stay the same as he and his band of Yordles were back in older times?

Well, i do believe that the giant mentioned in the Color Story of Heimerdinger, is Mega Gnar. However that was never confirmed, so, take that as a theory.

If that is correct, then many questions that you made would be answered.

Oh yeah, that probably shows that Gnar can indeed go through the portals. Too bad we never found out how Heimerdinger and Gnar's relationship has progressed since then though; maybe we'll see it if Heimer ever gets a bio update?...

Heres' the question though. Before Yordles became 100% spirits they were just hairy mammalian dwarf stand ins that could be good at magic. Now in the lore they all are.

But the things is before they were a completely biological lifeform. Gnar is "the Missing Link" aka proof that Yordles evolved. An old remnant from the old lore.

The question is can spirits evolve? It's actually kind of a glaring plot hole when you think about it. I can't see how they can remedy it except by saying that Yordles were originally biological lifeforms and then they found Bandle city (aka the spirit realm) and adapted to it BECOMING spirits while Gnar remained not so much a spirit just an oversized squirrel.

Otherwise imo the whole concept of Gnar in the current lore is kinda janky because he's clearly disconnected from the rest of the Yordle brethren, so how can he use their portals.

I agree with what you say...

However, we forgot something important about the portals: Even humans can use them.

So, the question of "cah he use the yordle portals?" is not really a question, if humans can use them by accident, it is safe to assume that Gnar can do it as well.
