I'm a mastery 6 (almost 7!) Sona main and I really want DJ Sona, but I know there's almost no way I'll be able to get $25 worth of RP to buy this skin. does it ever go on sale, or is it always that astronomical price? It's kinda upsetting knowing I'll probably never have my favorite skin in the game, and even more so since I play Sona most of the time...
The current ultimate skins were on sale upon release(at least udyrs and Sonas,not sure about ezreals),but they will never get on sale ever again(unless riot changes their mind about that).
Future ultimate skins will go on sale once,4-6 months after their release,where you'll be able to buy them for 2450 rp
DJ Sona is a good skin, its worth the $25 in my opinion because its pretty much 3 skins in one that come with their own music, that you can swap in the middle of a match.
Ohh and a quick tip for you (Ive been a Sona main for years now) Dont just always go for that lichbane, yes that makes sona's poke hellish to deal with, but she is to easy to kill. In ARAM and Featured modes though, lichbane them all to death :3
They won't go on the monthly sales, but they do go on the Early Sale once, 4-6 months after release.
Nope, Ultimates never go on sale. You can however get them through hextech crafting, so if you're lucky you could get her in one of your free boxes if you keep diligently getting them. (do group queue box hunts once a month if you have to and exchange S rank ability with other people so they get their boxes too).
Once only, for a short time after release. Each successive Ultimate skin so far has had a smaller and smaller initial discount, so future ones may not be discounted at all.
So it's either 25 bucks, get lucky with Hextech crafting, or go without.

I got Spirit Guard Udyr skin shard via Hextech Crafting.
The first 3 ultimate skins will never go on sale again. They were on sale for a short time after their releases, but since then Riot has changed the system and allows all future skins after the Legendary skin Dragon Trainer Tristana to go on sale. So the next Ultimate and so on will be on sale after 4-6 months of release.
