Reminder that these are not "new" splash arts

I've seen a lot of threads with the word "new splash arts sucks", the Chinese splash arts aren't permanent as they will be updated in the near future (Sivir for example is one of the Champions on the list for skin splash art updates but atm she is using the Chinese arts until the art team can give Sivir a proper set of splash updates). As for the reason behind the removal of Graves' Cigar and Gentleman Cho'Gath, I suggest you read this first before posting hate comments such as "why the hell are you removing the pipe on Cho'Gath? I personally don't mind the Global Splash Update and I know some of you dislike most of them. Riot is working hard to unify all splash arts globally and like I said earlier, all of the Chinese splash arts will be updated eventually... so we're stuck with the Chinese splash arts until they can receive a proper update from the art team.

Oh yeah, for those of you who are wondering about the champion list of skin splash art updates, Reav3 has confirmed the line-up (in no particular order): Nidalee, Trundle, Tristana, Sion, Miss Fortune, Alistar, Kassadin, Gangplank, Twitch, Fiora, Karthus, Maokai, Karma, Garen, Morgana, Sivir, Sona, Annie, Renekton, Nasus & Heimerdinger. Let me know which of these champions are you most excited about, I'm looking forward to seeing Sona. I know it will take some time to see Sona getting new skin splash arts, but I'm glad she's on the list, and that makes me happy. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I'm honestly baffled by Riot's stance on this. What they're saying is that their western audiences will be beholden to Chinese media rating standards, just so that they don't have to release "With cigar/without cigar" versions of the same splash art in different regions. "Global parity" is a nice buzzword (buzzphrase?), but it doesn't really explain why Riot feels that it's important enough to spur such a decision.

I am most peeved that Akali isn't on that list. The changes to her Crimson Akali skin are the most egregious of the ones I've seen so far, and the one I'm most upset about. I can't even bring myself to use the skin now because I just hate looking at the creepy Chinese art version.

And if she's not on that list, it'll be likely YEARS before it gets changed again. Which, honestly, I feel that the current NA one is actually fine. Like, on par with their good quality arts. The change just doesn't make sense to me.
