League of "Legends"

Just had a thought. Why is it called league of LEGENDS when we called everyone CHAMPIONS Wouldn't we call it "League of Champions"? (which honestly sounds kinda nice to me)

In the release video the whole point of the Rift is to find out who will be the "Legend". So we are all competing to be the Legend, but I think QT took that role today ;)

Plus the original name was league of legends clash of fates.
