Who cares anymore. The way they want it, barely anyone will interact. Rengar, Nidalee, Ekko, and Zilean literally have no fucking reason to exist beyond random filler characters. The main hubs have a few champions and beyond fighting no one will interact. We have a huge world with these characters we love that are being dumbed down and turned into cookie cutter fantasy warriors.
I liked my connected characters. I liked making crackships and liked how it was totally in lore for Lux and Leona to have ice cream, Kayle and Ahri to argue over pie, Garen and Braum to flex muscles at each other and nod approvingly. Ashe to teach Vatus a few trick with a bow.
Instead, no. No let's destroy the exact fucking thing that the entire game is actually named after, remove our playerbase from the game and tell them they no longer exist in lore, and then ruin lore for the sake of a website that's been down for tech issues for a whole years, almost (three more months guys, then it's a year anniversary for the great Retcon).
I don't see anything good anymore. All I see is random fantasy world #234452 inhabited by Spinning Swords man, Dominatrix Assassin, Magical Light Girl and SPARTAN PANTHEON. Oh, and this random mermaid and her trusty trident wielding fish...thing.
What's the point of names if the back stories don't matter ingame? What's the point of a story omfor a game when the gameplay is divorced from its own story?
,etc. where all connected somehow, I really was impressed with the effort that Riot put into the 'little things' of the game. Now its seems that all of the 'new guys' are some random sensational fad from the mists of mystery. I realize that it must be tough to have concrete connected plots, but I still wish that we could have more thematically similar people interacting with each other outside of the slash-in-burn rift.
