Actually I think she's female either way. The color story never said anything about sexual desires, just desires. If she looks like the perfect female, other women might desire to look like her, something that will (probably) never happen. Thus Eve can still feed off of it. She just looks slutty most of the time because it's easy to get into a man's pants if he's stupid.
