Kinda hoped that universes region section would be a huge map where you can click on the different nations to get to their pages.

dora and item 3158 approve. But Ahri swiped it.

My reaction to seeing Universe was a solid 10-15 seconds of "Map? Map Map? Map, Map, Map. Map?!" Then 10-15 seconds of quiet disappointment.

Cant remember if i saw it here or on reddit but there was a fan who tried to map out the Runeterra and the different lore regions. There was a lot of feedback from rioters and it seemed clear that even riot doesnt know exactly what runterra looks like or where the regions are in relation to each other

was really hoping the universe page would clear that up, guess they still figuring it out

I clicked on the Universe expecting a map, kind of disappointed when there wasn't one.

You know.... I feel like we can put together a map ourselves using logic and what theyve given us. Zaun is Under Piltover... great good start. and Freljord would be to the North because ice... The Shurima Desert would be near the middle since they are constant Caravans going through there and finding better paths to Piltover. Only thing we'd need is how many continents. And I believe a Red posted there were 3 in the new one? but the third continent has yet to be revealed at the time of that post.... dont remember where its at anymore though

Edit: I just thought of this, the third Continent could be the alleged Icathia thats been talked about but hasnt been really anything. but thats all speculation of course.

I'm hoping to see some more lore added to champs that just received minor changes to their lore to get rid of any mention of the league of legends (champs like Zilean, not Jax orLeeSin). Sure, it's nice they've been updated a bit, but those updates hardly add anything new and some of them just add more questions than they answer.

what do you mean we need a map?

Akali Prime11/21/2016, 3:37:46 AM1 votes

they need to make a WORLD MAP rather than one continent, so they'll have room for more lore and locations

bad arcade kitty11/21/2016, 3:38:26 AM1 votes

they completely ruined yordles' lore on that "almost perfect" site

some degenerate11/21/2016, 4:10:04 AM1 votes

I don't know, most of it is great except for that new yordle lore... that's legit awful and almost insulting with how they ruined them.

Piltover isn't as cool as it used to be setting-wise, either.

But other than that, the rest of the new lore is definitely good.

FastAsHeck11/21/2016, 9:51:06 AM1 votes

Honestly I half expected the landing page of the site to be a huge interactive map (navigation buttons to the rest of the site at the top as usual) instead of this blog style

Isn't there a time element to the League universe? So wouldn't it be kind of difficult to produce a map without deciding what time the map corresponds to? I imagine the world was a lot different prior to the corruptiom of the Blessed Isles, for example, or pre-fall Shurima. There have been wars and shifts in power, etc. just like our world. So if we were learning about all of the legends of planet Earth, wouldn't a map be kind of limited. For example, a map corresponding to when the Roman Empire was thriving would look quite different from the Age of European exploration in the 1500-1600s and different still from Europe in the 21st century. Just a thought.

I have a few big problems with Universe, mostly to do with the layout. However the biggest and most relevant is how difficult it is to find lore entries.

For example, let's say my main is Cassiopeia, and I want to know more about her. So I go to the champions section and find her page in Universe. I see a short story about her killing some random nobleman, and how she sees herself as an ugly monster that needs to be shut away. I see she got her snake form through a transformation in a Shuriman tomb.

Okay. Now I want to know where to go to learn about that.

... Where would I go?

The Shurima page, you might say. Well, for one thing, you can't actually get there directly from Cassiopeia's page. You need to go back up to the Regions tab (or be dumb like me and go to Noxus first BEFORE finding your way back to the regions tab), then find Shurima, THEN scroll halfway down the page. Descent into the Tomb doesn't list the characters involved; it just gives a short introductory description, presumably what's in the YouTube description.

Now, granted, that description mentions Cassiopeia's name, so this might be a bad example. But if I don't know that this video is there to find, how am I supposed to find it? I knew what I was looking for and I nearly missed it because its section is so far down.

And if it had touched on any other aspect of the video - say, Nasus' first quote about the tragedy of Shurima's rise, or had spoken of Sivir being betrayed? There'd be nothing to go on.

Shouldn't the video be directly accessible ON Cassiopeia's page, since it's such a big part of her life and her lore? It doesn't even need to be embedded, just a small section of 'Related Lore' with links or something would do.

(EDIT: It's not just Cassiopeia who has this problem, I'm just using her as an example. I first noticed it because I couldn't find Ahri's stray fox lore)

(Oh and something I just found out: while there is a title bar you can use to go from champion pages straight to the region section, there isn't such a bar in the region section for some reason.)

LoL Universe not perfect until they bring in something from other side of the planet. Oh the possibilities.

After all, the farthest anybody has sailed out is Nasus, and he sure didn't make it all the way around. Who knows what's on the other side of that...........stuff he found.
