Oh sure, the best skins ever... And they are soo cheap and so varied! i NEVER feel like they are overpriced or like I am seeing the same concept reused for twenty different characters.
I will agree when, and only when, I have Star Guardian Urgot.
Skins released these days have certain thresholds. Whether you think a 1350 skin is better/worse/same as a 975 or whatever tier doesnt matter. A 1350 skin will usually have :
new model and textures new particles for spells new recall new sound effects and voiceover
as opposed to a 975 skin which will only have
new model and textures new spell colors but not necessarily particle changes some sound effect changes but not always new recall
This isnt true in all cases but thats how most skins work nowadays. I don't know for how long have you been playing league but a couple seasons back skin's quality would be significantly worse and the pricing equally bad. Take a legendary skin for twisted fate for example - it cost 1820 rp, the major difference in his model was that he wore a hat and had 1 or 2 new spell effects. thats it. If this skin released today it would cost 750 or 975 at best. This is why they put all those bad skins in vault and re arranged their pricing model.
A lot of new skins are released that cost more than 975 - because guess what - they take more effort and resources to make and offer more than the average 975 skin. Over the years they ve increased the quality of their stuff drastically.
About the chroma skins - back in the day there would be few skins in general and the worst ones would cost 520 ( or 390 not sure ) and were usually nothing more than a recolor, like the white mage veigar, rusty blitzcrank or assasin yi before the rework ( it was literally the base skin with colors removed ). Obviously they dont take much to make so they cost very low - 290 or less. They could make them purchasable with ip to be fair but their rp pricing is reasonable.
And then riot added crafting which literally allows you to get skins without paying anything. And people still complain lmao.
