Seriously, spirit guard Udyr doesn't add anything to the initial fantasy of Udyr. It's just a remake.

Surely Riot will update him in the future. The key difference between Classic and Spirit Guard Udyr is that in the former he's driven by rage, and in the latter he's calm and spiritual. You can't really tell that he's angry though, because his animations are so bad he just jerks around a lot. So there's that to look forward to at least. I know I like the sound of Udyr being a really scary old guy who runs really fast while yelling at people.

It's the idea that Spirit Guard Udyr it him united with the spirits, and he's working as one with them, so he combines martial arts with animal fighting, where as classic Udyr is supposed to be a man with great martial powers being directed by the spirits, so it feels like he'd fight more like the animals in question.

I recon when they actually get to Udyr it'll be pretty great, also I actually wanna see what a dude imitating a bear actually looks like running around.

Not exactly. Udyr himself is a very angry man who is in tune with nature.

Spirit Guard Udyr is himself rediscovered, he sought out the monks of some-shit (I think) and became much calmer and more in-tune with nature because of it.

To be fair, Riot has at least stated they have Pantheon planned for a VU at some point and that his dragon slayer skin was the catalyst.

I know Riot has a bunch of stuff on their plate. I'm not expecting they'll drop it all in favor of me asking for something in particular. I like to throw it out here and there, mostly in good humor.

The design is still decent. What needs to be changed are the derpy animations and a more significant change to the model when switching stances (just changing the pelt is pretty shitty)

He's just not a priority. Hes not on the radar. Not too strong, he's not too weak, and not picked too often. Exactly where Riot wants him. They don't want him to be too strong or popular because it would draw a lot of attention to his atrocious base model, and that his real model is locked behind a $25 dollar pay wall. His presence doesn't justify creating a brand new model from scratch for him, and they can't just use the assets from his ultimate model in fear of a major outlash from the playerbase, because as of 11 months ago, it was the best selling skin. He's the elephant in the room but a small elephant. People aren't looking in his direction and Riot hopes it stays that way.
