So recently I picked up the QiQi little legend because she is delightfully smug and adorable. Highly recommend. (Also pet her in ARAM, her reaction is so cute). I guess some people would be content to leave as that, just a cute accessory, but as I played with QiQi more I got more and more curious about her species.

Firstly I was curious about what her species was called. I'm presuming QiQi is just her personal name and not her species name as seems to be the case with the other True Damage little legends. Apparently she was called "Qiyana Dog" in development lmao. Tbh I didn't really consider her very dog-like until I looked at her icon. In game I considered her more of a cat-hamster.

I was also curious if she had a counterpart on Runeterra in the "main" universe. I can't really see the other True Damage little legends as natural animals on Runeterra (I could be wrong, but to me they look more like mascots than animals) but QiQi looks like, with a more natural palette, she could probably exist on Runeterra somewhere. Maybe they exist in Ixtal and Qiyana has QiQi there too? I'd love to see what QiQi's species might look like naturally on Runeterra someday.

I'd be happy to learn anything new about QiQi and her species if anyone knows something I might have missed!

Anyway... this is already a large post for a little legend so I'll leave it at that!

She's more like a hamster now, or perhaps a chinchilla. Little Legends don't have an in-universe counterpart if they were inspired by a skin line - QiQi's directly inspired by Qiyana, and Melisma and Ossia are also based on members of True Damage.

Qiqi was called a Chinchilla I believe. And she looks a lot like one, so i assume she's just an adorable little Chinchin.
