@Riot: Splash art updates -> In game face icon readability
Riot I'd like to start by saying that most of the new splash arts look great (honestly it's all of them quality wise, I just have my own preferences). The art updates are fine as a whole, but can we take a second to talk about readability of the champion icons in game? I mean the icons in general of course, but specifically those on the minimap where information at a glance is of extreme importance.
If you look at all the old icons for champions that haven't had a splash art update, the icons are very easily identifiable at a glance. Unfortunately, when you look at most of the new icons created by splash art updates, they aren't very easy to recognize. Has anybody even thought about the fact that the new Kog'maw icon looks like a ball bearing? It's a circular shaped, metal-gray color that lacks noticeable features at that size/distance. What about the new Udyr icon? I couldn't tell if I was supposed to be looking at a new graves or Malphite icon for a while. Speaking of Graves' icon, it could use a little bit of brightening for the sake of readability. Kayle's looks an awful lot like Pantheon, Janna looks a little bit like Riven, Rengar's is barely discernible, Tristana's looks like an awkward jumble of blue and purple, and Wukong could almost pass for Udyr.
Again, I don't have a problem with the splash art updates themselves, but the face icons leave a lot to be desired. I have 20/19 vision, so it doesn't seem like a problem on my end, but I just thought it'd be a good idea to kick up a conversation about this and potentially get the ball moving on changes.
