What is PROJECT?

I was talking to a friend because of the new project teaser, and we came up with a bunch of different theories.

  1. That PROJECT is used to take out what they deem as threats, such as Yasuo, and make better versions of them to take them out. Why they are deemed a threat we still haven't figured out
  2. Zaun or Piltover are using people and 'augmenting them' for the war between each other.
  3. Maybe PROJECT is assisting the characters in their own specific goal, like Yasuo trying to regain his honour.
  4. PROJECT is studying a way to regenerate and revive people from near death, who would have died, then using those people for their own personal gains, such as CENTIPEDE in Agents of Shield.

What theories do you have about PROJECT?

Most prominently they are believed to be an Anti-Battlecast squad, set in the same grim-dark evil corporation alternate universe with Creator Viktor.

I think the last idea seems viable, that they're reconstructing dead champions and bringing them back as cyborgs, possibly with manipulated memories to control them, hence the 'corrupted memories' theme.

My theory: That face on the project Site is porject Jax. I mean those entries about the project line all talk about the weapons and fighting styles of the different champs,which is fitting because Jax is the Grandmaster at arms. He is programmed to be able to be able to mimic the fighting styles of the other 6 project champions and to be able to use their weapons just as good as they can do it.(the 6th one is a currently unreleased champ,so thats why the memory is missing).
