What is PROJECT?

I was talking to a friend because of the new project teaser, and we came up with a bunch of different theories.

That PROJECT is used to take out what they deem as threats, such as Yasuo, and make better versions of them to take them out. Why they are deemed a threat we still haven't figured out
Zaun or Piltover are using people and 'augmenting them' for the war between each other.
Maybe PROJECT is assisting the characters in their own specific goal, like Yasuo trying to regain his honour.
PROJECT is studying a way to regenerate and revive people from near death, who would have died, then using those people for their own personal gains, such as CENTIPEDE in Agents of Shield.

What theories do you have about PROJECT?

That makes a lot of sense, and now I'm considering with the new updated sight if the Alpha Blade belongs to a new champion, based around this theme, and if these skins are based off lore.

Not a new champion. Either Yi, Jax, or Xin.

Was confirmed to not be a new champion in a translated Rioter post, alongside Riot already saying there won't be a new champion for a little while, considering worlds is coming up.

The teaser is for multiple skins. Zed/Fiora/Yi(?)/Leona/Lucian. If you click on the triangles on the teaser website it will take you to all the weapons that the project is creating, which gives away the champs.

I'm saying the Trace Lost is either Yi, Jax, or Xin. It's not a new champion.

Someone pointed out that it could also be Kayle, for many of the design reasons that Xin is considered.

It Could be Kayle, but the silhouette on the mobile site looks distinctly male.

Also there'd be no reason to give Kayle 6 eyes.

I found that the Trace Lost skin is Yi now, because A) Alpha, probably refrencing his Q 'Alpha' Strike and B) the description of one of the triangles says 'Highly compatable with Multi-Target combat, also reference to his Q

I think the last idea seems viable, that they're reconstructing dead champions and bringing them back as cyborgs, possibly with manipulated memories to control them, hence the 'corrupted memories' theme.

The alpha blade belongs to Fiora, confirmed on the surrender@20 page for this. And in case anyone is wondering about the bow it belongs to Varus

Alpha blade isn't Fiora, she has the pink one with the Sabre.

Edit:

The Sabre is also called "Scarlet" which further points to Fiora.

Alph Blade is unknown and speculated still.

I now believe it's Yi, with it being 'Alpha', talking about his Q. Also his Q is 'multi-target', and one of the descriptions for part of the blade is 'Multi-Target' combat.

My theory: That face on the project Site is porject Jax . I mean those entries about the project line all talk about the weapons and fighting styles of the different champs,which is fitting because Jax is the Grandmaster at arms. He is programmed to be able to be able to mimic the fighting styles of the other 6 project champions and to be able to use their weapons just as good as they can do it.(the 6th one is a currently unreleased champ,so thats why the memory is missing).
