I know Alune speaks to Aphelios telepathically from the celestial realm, but if that's the case, shouldn't Alune be able to hear his thoughts as well? Aphelios can't speak verbally, but wouldn't it make sense for Alune and him to have a back and forth conversation in his head?
Yeah, they do that. Aphelios at the very least is able to communicate his emotions and needs telepathically.

Maybe Alune can sorta sense his emotions/thoughts, but because the poison numbs Aphelios to literally anything, it means Aphelios just has nothing to convey to Alune? This is all a maybe. I don't think Riot ever clarified if this bond was one-sided or not.
As many other answered, he can indeed communicate with her with telepathy. However, this raises an interesting question. How strong is Alune's spirit? We have seen in the world of runettera creatures able to corrupt spirits so what if her spirit got corrupted? How would that impact Aphelios? Would he fall to madness as well or he would just be powerless without her (if he was able to somehow cut the bond with her) ?
