Riot needs an 'Explore the World' tab with a map

Started to play Diana and fell in love with her style. Wanted to learn more so I went to league's website to find the Mt Targon stories, and I can't find them easily at all! If I were a new player with no knowledge of these events, how would I learn more about the world and fall in love with league and the champions? I can't even access it from Diana's champ page. Riot NEEDS an 'Explore' tab. It would be amazing for new players if there was a map of the world, and clicking on a location pulled up all the events and champions from there.

After all, what's the point of having all this story and events, fleshing out all these champions, if no one will see it?

Really the entire way in which lore was made to be accessible is highly flawed due to the expectations of the folks who made the means with which to experience it. To explain what the sod I mean basically Riot revamped their website years ago and had a lore section of every champion's client section ahd website page, and didn't provide themselves with the means of expanding on stories because they didn't really do much to expand on it in the first place. Now they're working to get new stories out there and the tech constantly holds them back, not only because the tech itself is shoddy by design, but also because they're having to make up for the lack of systems in place through which they can provide lore.

Hopefully there's a big revamp of how the website and client work in terms of lore soon, because it's a little disheartening when you know that the lore is as inaccessible as it is when it's been as good as it has been. I imagine it's an even worse feeling for the rioters who worked to make this stuff happen in the first place. I want that damn link in the client to the website so everyone can see the long lores and I want the lore section of champions pages fixed so that there are fewer issues with the format and better ways of connecting that area to places in which further lore exists, such as the Bilgewater and Targon stuff, as well as champion promo content like Bard: Mountain and Chronobreak. Kindred's champion page probably has the best example of what it should all look like, but even then I feel like that can be improved too, I mean the friends and rivals section is highly flawed by design because it gives no context to anything it shows for starters.

TL;DR: Riot needs better systems in place to make their lore accessible, and I know they've talked about how those systems are being built upon (mostly by Jaredan of course), but It honestly frustrates me because of how many hindrances there are between us as players and the lore.

TL;DR 2.0: The website and client are sodding awful for lore. The website less so but it still kinda sucks. They need a lot of work. Thank god there's a client update coming.

How do you expect Riot to make a map when they can't seemingly decide what direction to take the story in with out retconning something every time?

I like that they have a motivated approach to expanding their story except they've been hosting all these lore events of grandeur but there's no way to participate in these events from the actual game client.

Ever since they made the decision to remove the League of Legends from the story of League of Legends, the lore team has been acting more and more like they've forgotten that there's an actual game for which they're (supposedly) writing this story for.

Now it's exactly as if the lore team is an entity of it's own, barely in anyway affiliated with League of Legends. Which, for all intents and purposes, is 100% true because as far as they're concerned; the League of Legends doesn't even exist.

We need a map first but Ezreal won't let us have it.

I play this game for 4 years now and still don't know shit about the game. I think I know more about Warcraft lore through hearthstone even though I never played WoW.

No idea what champs are connected with mt targon.

What world? The only thing to explore is the playable maps that barely correlate with lore. And then we have the lack of any motivating factor for their to be a Summoners Rift anyway. What the fuck is a summoner anymore anyways? There is no more world lol, just stories to keep us entertained while they churn out cash cows.

DYNMAP... Nice idea.

I mean...

First we need a map before we can get a tab for it.

I agree, a map that holds locale information (such as links to literally every epic lore website they've ever made) would be immensely beneficial to the Lore of the game, as it gives players a look into what is really there.

Which is probably why they haven't done it yet, because there isn't really all that much quite yet. They retconned most of the lore so the only places with any juicy lore are bilgewater, sion's site, Mt. targon, and then a bunch of alternate reality shit.

When the new client comes out they really need to start putting their lore into in the client and a map to fuck out champs by location would be pretty cool

They have some really nice art for the different locations too, it should be more visible

FYI the physical copy of the game came with a map of Runterra :)

I don't think you can have a story because they don't know how to write one that encompasses the moba arena. Its not like TF2.
