Can't believe it's already been a year with these two amazing champions. League's first couple has taken the Rift by storm (and maybe Twisted Treeline and Howling Abyss as well...), and I'm honestly surprised Riot hasn't said anything yet. Then again, it's only the beginning of the day for them.

I think only pretty observant folks noticed, but the related stories for Xayah and Rakan (Puboe Prison Break and Nothing Rhymes with Tubebow) had a few illustrations added to them recently. Just a heads up in case anyone missed it.

This is bittersweet. I remember hanging out with my girlfriend at her office when they were announced, as I was in between jobs. I was so excited. We both saved up and got them and were a happy couple in real life and in bot lane.

After almost 3 years together she just left me this week [zombie-nunu-tears]

I just rember struggling with the concept: he's someone who runs to the front lines... but isn't tanky. But then i had this just amazing moment where I hit a perfect three man nock up with a 5 man charm. So beautiful. then when a 2v2 turned into a 2v5, the simple ability for Rakan to get out of bad situations is so much fun.

Xayah's become a staple in ADC comps. Rakan....... Isn't bad...

I strongly dislike them from a character and design perspective, but I'm glad that they at last realised that maybe supports would be more fun if they had actual mobility tools and could make plays themselves with Rakan.

Happy birthday you wonderful birbs! I remember thinking Rakan’s VO was hilarious, but who knew I’d enjoy his kit so much and he would become my favorite champ and new main, usurping Soraka for most mastery points.

Some notable memories with Rakan: Stoping four-man ganks in their tacks by running through (ulting) the enemy and escaping out the river while the adc runs to tower, awesome feeling. Stealing an uncontested, late-game Baron over the wall with a rank one Q (among a few other r+w steals). And the fact that I probably average one final blow on a tower per game without trying. I used to say “They call me Rakan, Destroyer of Towers!” (on voice chat with my friends) when it happened because I thought it was funny I got the killing blow as support; now it’s a tradition.

I hope they get ledgendary skins (and/or PROJECT skins) some day with all new banter between the two. Thanks so much to the Rioters who worked on the them. They are by far my favorite change/addition made to this game in a long time.

I have tried a decent amount of champs in my maybe three months playing, and Xayah is by far my favorite. When I find someone who plays Rakan on my team I get so excited! They are so powerful together!!
