A deeper look in Jax's lore

A little more description on Jax: Before the Icathian war against the void, Jax is likely to be human, " the beating heart of the Kohari, a shaven-headed giant with skin pockmarked by the ravages of a childhood illness, and a forked beard stiffened to points with wax and white chalk." Kohari is a group of fighting mage. This explained why Jax's ability have magic damage. From the text, we can read that Jax was once the leader of this group, and also a "master of weapons". The weapon he used in the war against the Shurima God warriors (and eventually void creatures) was a "long, axe-headed polearm slung at his shoulder. The weapon was immense, its ebony haft carved with the names of his forebears, and the blade a slab of razor-edged bronze. Few of our group could even lift it, let along swing it, but Saijax was a master of weapons." Jax also has an impressive strength, described as "Saijax, slapping my back with one of his massive hands. Meant as a brotherly pat, it rattled the teeth in my skull". This helped explain why Jax's can beat people to unconscious with a brass lamppost. And at the ending of Where Icathia Once Stood, we can see that people "hadn’t thought Saijax could bleed at all." Which means Jax's have a strong resolve even not in the fight, basically means he has his ultimate on all the time. Which is why it's simply named "Grandmaster's might". It's just he's a strong big dude. But that doesn't change the fact that Jax's is also quick and agility includes that he can leap to distance quietly (see cinematic A New Dawn), and he can dodge enemy's physical attack just because he's so experienced in battle and a master of almost all kind's of weapon, he could easily predict what the enemy is gonna do. Such as in None Shall Pass, "Jax swayed aside from the first blow, ducked the second and parried the third. He spun inside the swordsman's guard and hammered his elbow against the side of his helmet. The metal buckled and the man went down on one knee with a grunt of pain." Since Jax existed before Icathia was destroyed, we can tell that he's over a thousand years old now. It will not be surprising to see him be master at all weapons. Hell, he cut one of the god warrior's head off with his old weapon (see Where Icathia Once Stood, and for god warriors, seeNasus and Renekton ). After the void entering runeterra, Jax's is likely to get void touched and turns into a purple, three-fingered, and two toes creature. With Shame, he covered himself with the robe he wears now. " His robes were heavy, but the sun's warmth didn't reach the mottled and oddly hued skin beneath. No part of his flesh was visible, which was probably just as well. He wasn't even sure what his skin looked like anymore. " He also wears a mask, possibly to cover the scar he got in the battle of Icathia. After the void destroyed Icathia, Jax's been looking for someone who is strong enough to stand beside him, which I suspected to be Kaisa, with her interaction with Jax and her lore.

Personality wise, Jax has a strong moral code, humor, merciful and respect his opponent. He can seem to cheer up new soldiers, telling jokes all the time, and "giving his opponents a feeling that they might have a chance", and with a biting sarcasm. "You seem like a man who can hew ironbirch trees all day and still have energy left for a tavern brawl" said Jax. The man took a steadying breath and attacked again, a series of blisteringly fast cuts that went high and low, a mixture of sweeping slashes, lighting thrusts and overhead cuts. Jax parried them all, his lamppost in constant motion as it deflected the Demacian's blade and delivered stinging, bruising ripostes to the man's arms and legs. He feinted left and hooked his lamppost around the opponent's legs, putting him flat on his back. He jabbed the butt of his post into the man's belly, doubling him up and leaving him gasping for air. "Had enough yet?" asked Jax. "I can swap hands if it makes it easier." With unquestionable strength and skills on close up combat, Jax is truly the Grandmaster At Arms. He drink with Gragas , possibly to temporarily distract him from the memories of Icathia. And I personally believe that if Jax really wanted to, Fiora would not stand a chance in their duel (HE CUT A GOD WARRIOR'S HEAD OFF). But Jax is a guy who seeks to sport with his opponent, so he might give Fiora a chance to win. ;) League hold him back by not letting him use a real weapon, not letting him use his E all the time (From the lore we can read that Jax's can keep using E if he wishes), and not letting him keep using his ult all the time. (Because after all, his ult's active is just letting him to fully use his resolve).

Also Jax loves eggs. "My mouth was dry, my heart hammered in my chest. I looked to Saijax for strength, to take courage from his indomitable presence. His jaw was set, his eyes hard. This was a soul who knew no fear, who rejected doubt and stood firm in the face of destiny.

Sensing my gaze, he glanced down at me. “Egg?” he said.

A pair of peeled eggs lay in the palm of his hand." - Before Jax and Icathia army entering a outnumberd fight against Shurima and God Warriors.

Before the Icathian war against the void, Jax is likely to be human

Rioter:

{quoted}

I don't know that this is more likely. Also, it is not clear that the Kohari are a single species, anymore than the inhabitants of Demacia are. Saijax might not be human, but he could easily be fighting alongside humans.

The use of language was deliberate. :-)

and

{quoted}

What if the Icathians were so unconcerned by race and species, that this wasn't something they talked about?

"This man is green and comes from that other country beyond the mountains" vs "It's the big warrior with the hat" etc.

(Real-talk, we deliberately edited the story in such a way that this exact discussion would take place once it was released. ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED.)

I don't think he's human. Story already mentions his skin is mucked by the illness.

After the void entering runeterra, Jax's is likely to get void touched and turns into a purple, three-fingered, and two toes creature.

I'm saying being purple doesn't mean you're touched by the Void.

There are people who seem to think that.

Maybe Jax beats Fiora, maybe not. Her bio calls her "the most feared duelist in all of Valoran" and she has never lost a duel against a challenger, despite having many. Fiora isn't just good or great, she's prodigal. I'm not saying she beats Jax, but it's not an easy call either way.

My headcanon is that Jax as a different breed of Troll from the unknown Southern lands beneath the Shuriman Continent. That would explain his low digit hands and feet and the coloured skin.

His helmet has holes for design reasons, similar to some old Medieval helmets with multiple eye holes. Heck even Yi has numerous lenses despite having two eyes.

Fiora would not stand a chance in their duel (HE CUT A GOD WARRIOR'S HEAD OFF). But Jax is a guy who seeks to sport with his opponent, so he might give Fiora a chance to win. ;)

In the Icathia lore where he cut off the god warriors head, it wasn't a simple 1v1, it was an army vs 1. Jax's entire army fought the Ascended Jax was just the one who was able to finish it. So that doesn't work. Like another comment said, Fiora isn't just good or great, shes the literal best at what she does, so Jax wouldn't just stomp like you seem to think.

Jax's been looking for someone who is strong enough to stand beside him, which I suspected to be Kaisa , with her interaction with Jax and her lore.

The person Jax is looking for is Fiora. That's where their stories intertwine, they're not just going to meet, Jax beat her up then leave. No, Jax is looking for someone to stand with him against the horrors of the void, and now he meets Fiora, it's obvious she's going to be that someone. Kai'sa has her own story with other characters involved, Jax is not one of those.

Jax _ Grandmaster at Arms Fiora_ Grand Duelist

Comparison between the two,

Physical Capability _ Jax > Fiora Battle Experience_ Jax > Fiora Weaponary Skill_ Jax > Fiora

Obvious to say Jax is definitely advantage in terms of physical attribute.

Jax definitely gone through much More than Fiora in terms of War, Battle Experience and Time.

He is much more than a duelist, he is Beyond that platform, he is Grandmaster at all weaponary, he faced opponents that are outscaling any competitors Fiora has ever faced.

Fiora is an expert on dueling with sword and a grand duelist... Facing an opponent who is a grandmaster beyond the level of expert in every weaponry with battle knowledge and experience of over thousand years.

Fiora has never face anyone like jax... Jax finally found n opponent worth fighting. In that context, Fiora is still not a threat but someone who can "entertain" him in skill.

Remember jax is much more experienced, physically advanced, and he is extremely diverse in his skill where he can counter any forms of weapon style due to the fact that he is a grandmaster at arms...

On the other hand Fiora is expert in dueling with her weapon_ sword. She is consider the most worthy to jax.

Yes, Fiora is only worthy enough for jax, in lore, for the sake of the story she has to be atleast worthy enough to be relatable to jax. The chance of her defeating jax is almost impossible at this stage.

Fiora can learn alot more from jax. Realistically, she will be the "student", the most worthy opponent with highest potential to learn from a Grandmaster.

Fiora has never been defeated before but this is the time when she crosses path with a mysterious opponent who is going to make her rethink about herself and challenge again so that she can improve and learn from the master of her life.

Jax simply has much more to offer to fiora than what fiora can give to jax.

Fiora will give a very entertaining fight that worth his ( jax ) time. Realistically, there is a distance between the two, jax has gone through revolution, test of time and refined over experience and journey where his knowledge, skill, experience and physicaly beyond any duelist. Fiora will be that grand duelist to finally lucky enough to have a piece of the "champ" and hopefully she can learn from him and become better beyond just her skill but also her spirit.

She is "cold, unforgiving " she is serious and will give 100% to a fught which is what jax has been long waited for.

Jax grinned, simply enjoying. Thrilled, excited, looking forward to a fun "contest" He is curious, intrigued. He was bored. The whole theme on the bridge is jax purposely triggering the best of them all to face him, " you shall not pass "

If tge fight on the bridge continue it will be very likely be a " draw " since jax is not going to be serious and testing while fiora went all out and realising she can only keep an equal and decided not to prolong the fight. The longer she fight jax the more he will be figuring out and tracing out her technique and eventually counter her completely.

Not to mention,

Jax: "imagine i had a real weapon"

Fiora will need an excuse to challenge Jax again after the first encounter by allowing him to use his "weapon" of choice. Jax will simply unbothered again because any weapon is HIS weapon, that includes the sword.
