Every new Lore has completely rewritten characters for going on three years now. 
+ more all got their character's lore completely and entirely changed.
If Varus's lore had him fusing with a brother and not a love interest, y'all would be silent.
You know what the issue is.
If Varus' lore had him fusing with a brother, it still wouldn't be very important to the story. You could just as easily fuse Varus with a single dude with a heart of gold and effectively have the exact same story.
I don't follow lore issues that closely because not a lore guy really, but this new story is really obviously flawed and clunky. Any third member in this dynamic between Varus and whoever he's corrupting is irrelevant.

So far all characters who have had their lore changed, besides Galio, have retained elements of their personality. If you're really trying to make this a purely homophobic issue you need to try harder.
I feel like this change is almost as drastic as Yorick's. I don't like his change either.
