I've always wondered the states of Zaun, Piltover, Bandle City, etc. but we seem to STILL be worrying about the Shadow Isles and Shurima.
Not saying the lore isn't good, I am just wondering when we will get to those places.
Hell, Noxus and Demacia have gotten touches here and there but those three places I listed, well, I just don't know.
Nope.
The reason is that shit changes, and Riot's given promises in the past that didn't pan out because shit changed. As such Riot never gives timeframes for anything anymore, in any regard, and if they do it's usually vague at best.
Where we're going next with the lore is anyone's guess, but there's hints here and there.
I think a lot of what it boils down to is that riot isnt incentivized to produce lore.
League is a MOBA with no campaign. Extensive lore is a luxury that many league players probably wouldnt appreciate. It's not like other games where campaign modes necessitate the construction of a lore to enhance gameplay.

The biggest advances in terms of lore would be non-canonical fan stuff.
