@Riot clarity on the VS skins

Since lunar and Solar Eclipse Leona has been revealed one prevalent complaint that struck me is that it should have been saved for a vs event between Leona vs Diana

This got me thinking about a confusion I’ve had on what champions could be picked for future vs events

On the one hand some think that the vs can be between any of the long-standing rivalries or antagonistic relationships in league e.g vs
vs vs vs vs And of coursevs

And on the other hand some ( myself included) think that the vs will be between champions that share some sort of rivalry or dualistic aspects in lore AND can realistically face each other ingame on each equal terms which emphasizes the whole vs theme vs(skirmishers) vs (Juggernauts)

I think that Leona and Diana are out because:

A.) They aren't lane opponents (Leona: Support, Diana: Mid/rarely jg) which means they can't fight directly, nullifying the point of VS

B.) Diana has fallen off a bit in playrate since the old days while Leona's is healthy rn because she is strong atm. They aren't mainstays like Riven Yasuo Darius Garen that will always have loyalist camps and high playrates no matter how weak they get

C.) You kinda mentioned my third point at the end. Previous VS events had champions that share a class so that they could fight on equal footing. Leona is a support tank and Diana is an AP assassin/Diver it's not really a fair competition

D.) Their lore update has changed their relationship status from: immortal enemies to it's complicated. They aren't really foes in the way that Yas and Riven were or Darius and Garen are.

E.) This skin concept for Leona is so cool and original that making her fit the VS role would have been a disservice. I guess you can say it sucks that Diana is getting left out for now but she can get a similar Legendary at a later date.
