JHIN: I'm Not Disapointed by the Kit, I'm Disappointed by the SFX&VFX

Honestly, I think gypsylord did an amazing job in breathing something new into the ADC role. I feel like with Jhin's limited resources and dependence on positioning, he'll definitely deliver a different take on the sniper fantasy.

HOWEVER, something was missing when I was looking at the reveal. Butterfly smoke? Glitter? Emerald pazazz? Smoldering roses? Arcing lightning? Branches?

While Jihn himself had dramatic animations and avante-garde flair to him. The sound effects and visual effects of his abilities were lifeless, completely void of the drama and beauty I was looking forward to seeing. These were elements highly advertised in all of his promo material. These elements (I'm really agitated there's no butterfly smoke) are even referenced in his splash. I know the concern may be that these effects could create too much "visual noise" and honestly that's something that should be of top consideration - but I thought of all champions if there was a champion that were to push to limits of what is Visual Noise vs Visual Art it should be THE VIRTUOSO.

Riot may point out that "deranged artist" is just a facet of his personality, well this is the price of promotion materials such as Jhin's. We thought the material was a visual fingerprint of what we could expect from Jhin. It's a shame how community interpretation and expectation has soured Jhin's release, and I think it was because we were expecting something extravagant , beautiful and artistic.

gypsylord said there's an additional mechanic on the way. I sincerely hope that this brings Jhin up to par visually/SFX. Other than that, artistically and visually, Jhin in-game leaves a lot to be desired. Nice splash though!

That's the point. Jhin believes himself being a virtuoso. He is an archetype of an artist who has broken the wall between creativity and madness. Every virtuoso sees his art as something larger than life, Otherwise a virtuoso wouldn't give himself for his art. It wouldn't be worth it.

Jhin has used his creativity for killing and sees every death as a masterpiece, larger than life. That's why the trailer is full of beautiful elements, to represent his point of view.

Jhin is like Aatrox. Where Aatrox makes art of war, Jhin makes art of every single death.

And btw check Niccolo paganini, the first person man thinks when he hears the word 'virtuoso'. Their appearances resemble each other.
