I read them both and didn't find any connection, can someone please explain to me what the connection is? Or maybe it is a mistake that riot did?

It often means they have an interaction or a story together that we haven't heard yet.
They do this with a number of champions. Rengar and Nidalee are related, but we have no tales of them ever meeting, for example.
I doubt Vayne even relates to "people" in general at this point. No joke.
Assuming it is the old lore, Galio was roaming free around damacia all the time so it would be natural that a hunter like vayne would seek him out. She wasnt quite as black and white in the killing as she is now. She and quinn both use cross bows maybe they go to the same shop? Maybe Vayne gives valor monster meat to eat.
