Some real talk about DARK STAR JARVAN IV

In case anyone who has not viewed this skin yet, here is a link to it. It is just a prerelease, it's no the final form, so I think they will make it look better. However, what I want to say is not about if the skin looks bad or what...I just want to ask who from the skin team of RIOT thought Jarvan is suitable for the dark star theme? I mean, I clearly remember a few months ago, some rioters said that they wanted to make the skins not for the champion, but find champions that are fit in the theme. So I thought Jarvan might get something like Super Galaxy or pool party something like that. More positive vibe you know, because he is the prince of Demacia, not like a evil prince from Zuan... There will be people talking for riot like "stop bitching about it you got what you want, a jarvan skin". I saw a lot of people talking about what I just said in the comment session of this video, so I think I am not alone. I know my talks might not change anything rioters do to the pre-released skins, but I just hope you guys can put more effort thinking about what themes really suit the champions. Though I have waited for a new Jarvan skin for years, but a dark star Jarvan... NAH

Agreed, it doesn't fit him at all. I thought this skin came completely out of no where and at first thought it was a hoax or something. Then I remembered trump is president and our reality has been fractured. So yeah we get a strange Dark Star Jarvan skin.

Dark star does seem like a weird choice. Perhaps there is some skin lore bits as to why j4 became a darkstar character? Still weird af and no Cape :(

Personally wanted lancer,King, warden or steel legion. Something more lawful good aligned. All j4s other skins are pretty neutral / chaotic

They did say that this approach however was rather flawed and caused them to ignore certain champs for too long,which is why they want to do some skins for champs who didn't receive a skin in the last years.

Then it REALLY doesn't make sense to give the skin to Jarvan...

Yes it does. His last skin was in 2014. At least try to fact check pls. He was the champ with the 6th most amount of time since his last skin. The #2 on the list(Swain) is also getting a skin. He deserved a skin.

I do get the argument for themes. While I personally think the skin looks nice I 100% agree that the theme is out of left field. Imo tho I like Riot going in out of the box directions for skins. I mean I like the obvious fitting skins like project Jhin a ton, but I feel that the last thing that the designers should be chided for doing is being creative. I think it is good that no one would see it coming. Whether the designers managed to make the skin fit or look good is another matter, but I think that choosing an off the wall concept is not a bad thing at all.

While I think that J4s personality doesn't fit that much I could see him as a dark star abomination who sees destroying planets as glorious and thus wants to rally the other dark stars behind him.

Though I feel like they should have taken this opportunity and made some other dark star skins based on who fits the theme. I mean Dark star Urgot or Lissandra would have really worked well.

Nice skin but I don't think it suits Jarvan IV's character. I feel like a Dunkmaster Jarven IV skin would suit him better. Yes, I know it's random but so it this skin.
