That's some pretty darn drastic difference between the splash and in game. The darkin part actually extends down to his stomach, but doesn't cover his nipple in the splash?

A Rioter already addressed this problem. He hurt his nipple while swinging Rhaast.

The splash art version could be a little bit earlier in Kayn's transformation where the darkin hasn't extended as far. No one has said that the splash art has to match exactly in the same time as the model you're using. It's like a picture - it's in the past. Also hence why the might've fixed Taric, his was a matter of clothes.
No nip slip for Kayn.

It isn't as bad as someone like say, Jhin, where his splash art got his eye colour wrong (or the other way around, that it was the model artist's fault, can't remember), and the splash artist thought Jhin's right arm was a cybernetic arm and drew it as that when in fact it's just a normal arm in armour to handle the recoil of the combined cannon (also the enlarged shoulder is just an accelerator carried on the shoulder for the firing of the cannon).
riot doesn't care, masked shaco also has a problem with splash art vs ingame, on the splash art his hair is blue and his headband is black yet ingame his hair is black and his headband is white, I sent a support ticket to riot in 2013 which told me to make a thread, I did and no surprise, nothing ever happened
