Decline of Lore/Possible Theory
Lore fans probably agree on this: Riot's recent tendency to cut back on their lore is rather disappointing. Before I get to my earnest request, allow me to discuss what I think are a few reasons behind this.
-
Predominantly, the cut-back on lore relates to Shurima, including the upcoming Rek'Sai, the recently released Azir, and other champions believed to have some relation to this region of Runeterra. This could be an indicator that something big is happening there and Riot is either still in the process of working on it and doesn't want to spoil what they have/don't have.

While the former seems likely, it may just be that Riot has grown lethargic. This is evidenced by Kalista's lack-luster lore, which is sorely disappointing. Otherwise they could be shifting from dedicating anything worthwhile to lore, and focusing predominantly on mechanics and gameplay. While these two are vital to make the game itself, the lore is something that really sold it to me and set it apart from other MOBAs.
So, with these observations in mind, I sincerely hope Riot employees will actually dedicate some time and effort into bringing a character to life behind the scenes. These simple, two-to-five line stories we have seen barely provide us with any meaningful ways to relate to any of their champions, and it sorely disappoints me. Even some of the old, generic stuff they had is better than these shallow lines they present us with.

or why they simply keep long lores for the client, like they did with
though.

They said they plan to release multiple pieces of lore about the individual champs, which sadly means that the character will be fleshed out step by step and that we don't get the full picture instantly(not that that would be something new,I mean Hecarims lore was basically "he is an undead herald, who ran to the IoW and killed everyone on his way",which doesn't tell us much about his character)
