Ezreal should be counted as a Shurima champ IMO

I know Ezreal lives in Piltover, but he's never really home for long. He's more like a citizen of the world, traveling around from place to place. I'm sure he spends most of his time not in piltover rather than in it. And where does Ezreal's lore mostly transpire within? Shurima. I'll make a few bullet points for my argument.

  1. Caitlyn Camille Jayce Heimerdinger Vi Orianna These are the other champions of Piltover. How many of them does he interact with ever? One, and it's off-camera in lore when Jayce secretly unlocks a gate or some such for Ezreal. Cait is listed as a friend but we can only guess why that might be. How many of them leave Piltover as Ezreal does? None. Finally, they are also in some way technologically inclined. A cyborg, a tech gun, a clockwork lady, a mega claw gauntlet, a hextech inventor; you get the point. Ezreal is none of these. He was raised on magic, and he lives by archaeology and more magic. He is the odd one out in Piltover. He does not fit.

  2. Ezreal has the most lore within Shurima. If Ezreal was a character in West World, his cornerstone is all about his time in Shurima. His parents? Died in Shurima. His gauntlet? Found in Shurima. The site where you would imagine the most ruins and digs could take place within granted other champion's lores like Sivir? Shurima. For the Aatrox reveal, Ezreal was also the investigator who compiled information. It's recently been decided that Darkin are actually corrupted ascended beings or some such, making them all former Shurimans. Zoe, another character connected to Ezreal, is also connected to Aatrox. It's also worth noting that character's "homes" are sometimes not their faction. Heimerdinger comes from Bandle City, but is counted as Piltover. Ezreal wears a weapon of their land, one for ascended beings which are home in Shurima, and the main aspects of his life take place within Shurima. He fits.

Indiana Jones is an American who travels the world doing archeological actiony things. Just because he spent a good deal of time in a temple in some Indian jungle trying to get his heart removed by a priest doesn't mean he's Indian - he's still very much an American as he lives in the States.

Ezreal is the Indiana Jones of the game. He lives in Piltover. His home is there, his family is there. Saying he's Shuriman is a major oversight to who he is, because he doesn't return to Shurima when his adventures are over, he goes home to Piltover.

That's kinda like saying Lucian should be considered a Shadow Isles champion because of all the time he spends there.

It wouldn't make sense for an Explorer to only stay in one place. His whole identity is to travel around the world.

I'm not saying he has the best connection with Piltover, but I don't think he should be a Shuriman.

He's getting a rework. Maybe his gauntlet will be retconned into being a hextech device? Maybe he'll get more stories and interactions with other Piltovans? Who knows?

No.

If you really don't like the idea of Ez being a Piltover champ that much, then at least make him a factionless/Runeterra champ since he often travels the world like Ryze.
