Aatrox's Selection Quote Bugs Me

I know not many people play him nowadays, but I've recently taken to Aatrox, and I love almost all of his quotes, with the exception of one, his selection quote:

  • "This battle will be my Masterpiece!"

Now after playing the character to have the highest mastery point total out of all my played champions to date, and after going into his lore extensively, I don't really see a reason why he would say this. None of his other serious quotes hint at him trying to create "art" in a battlefield, and his kit isn't really about it either.

What was the thought process behind selecting this quote? Am I missing something here that just isn't obvious?

It seems, at least to me, that he has other quotes that would be more fitting as his selection quote (my personal favorite: "I know what lurks in the hearts of men."). Especially with Dynamic Que playing the selection quotes, it seems really... off? when you choose Aatrox.

Please let me know if I'm missing something!

Aatrox thinks of conflict as an orchestra and himself as the conductor. He says that the battle will his masterpiece because he believes that he is ultimately in charge of who will achieve victory and who will suffer defeat, much like how a conductor masterfully guides an orchestra into playing a piece.

Are you sure that none of his other quotes fit that? "Violence is elegance." "Nobody understands me! They called my work a hack job." "This is no mere massacre; this is my masterwork!"(though the last 2 are his jokes,so I can understand why these aren't too serious)

It's not about seeing this as art,but about how he sees War as something beautiful, how people struggle to be victorius, how they murder each other, how they are seen as heroes during a war, thats why he has this quote,he wants to make every further conflict even better than the last one.

aatrox is described as flowing throught the battle field like a dancer, united with his dancing blade
