How is Battle Boss Malazahar skin supposed to be Arcade?

Alright, hear me out. I'm a great fan of the whole Arcade series, I would love them to get more attention, but there is a thing that just makes me wonder. What do Riot thinks when creating an Arcade skin? As for Riven and the rest of the good guys team we can see it is all about crossover between popular franchises and gamer look, which is fine and understandable.

The problem starts with The Bosses. Even though there are lots of stereotypes about how the final/battle boss should look, they aren't as specific as the heroes. Technically, champions like Karthus or Mordekaiser looks like a final boss in their original skins. That's why Riot had to... a little change it. And even though some of their arcade antagonists seem well, like Veigar, Brand or Ziggs, there are some fatal misunderstandings, like Blitzcrank and Malzahar. The last two have nothing in their design that seems "arcade".

Malzahar is inspired by low poly technique, which wasn't even that popular since 2014! He looks more like virus or malicious program skin, even his skills looks more like web-inspired hacker thing. Blitzcrank instead looks more like a toy, and the only truly "old games" thing that's about him is small resemblance to the Toy Story video game enemies.

I think that's it, thanks for reading.

They are corruptions of the code

That is his inspiration. Fun fact, most arcade champions are gamers who got sucked into the Arcade world, and Riven who works in an arcade and defaulted to button mash fighter class. Malzahar as a boss is like a virus, he's that boss that dumps 95 status effect on your party and says "Good luck losers."
