Bilgewater Dream
JUST woke up from a long dream where League of Legends had its own first-person RPG. Lets see if I can remember it all...
It starts out where I'm playing League in the Black Market Brawlers mode. But instead of spending Krakens to upgrade minions, I'm spending them on upgrading my champion himself. I'm playing Blitzcrank again; he's my main. I spend about 40 Krakens total and then League becomes an RPG much like The Elder Scrolls series.
I'm now suddenly in Bilgewater. Its quite dreary and gloomy. Its even snowing in some places. I'm walking through the town looking for someone. I'm looking for Captain.... Jim.... Ullrig (pronounced "Ool-riSCH;" in my native German: combine the "-ch" with the "-sh" sound), I think was his name. He needs me to do something for him.
I visit various taverns and inns and ask several patrons inside where I might find the Captain. Along the way I see many different champions. For example I see Volibear at a table having drinks with some other champions that I've forgotten now.
My memory of this dream is fading...
I effectively keep traveling in circles around Bilgewater. Eventually I find Captain Ullrig in the same tavern where Miss Fortune was dancing in the Bilgewater Event lore. When I get to that tavern, I see Miss Fortune and some of her friends. Although Miss Fortune doesn't look like she does in the game; she's much more heavy-set. I ask her where to find Captain Ullrig and she shows me to his table. Everything is very dimly lit.
I sit down at Captain Ullrig's table and he's halfway through a large tankard of beer. He's sitting with a few other champions from the game but I only look at him. He tells me to sit down and he gives me my mission. He wants me to go to one of the inns (or even upstairs to the second floor of this tavern) and steal a rather large and magic hammer (in real life I've been working with lots of heavy sledge-hammers, nail-pullers, splitting mauls, and axes lately) from one of the guests, either Gangplank or a Pirate Gragas. I'm partially lucid at this point and I remember thinking, “This is League of Legends, not an RPG, and LOOK at this AMAZING story!”
When I get to the room, I see the large hammer sitting on a table behind Gankplank / Pirate Gragas. Gankplank / Pirate Gragas is having a good time playing a game of cards. And I SWEAR he's playing with Twitch! The room is dim, lit only by a few lanterns in the corners. I look at the hammer. Gangplank / Pirate Gragas instantly looks up at me and says something to the effect of, “I know what you're thinking, boy, but its NOT gonna happen!”
I see some kind of progress bar in my HUD for a brief moment. I'm spending so much time in awe at the level of detail and realism of this League RPG and I'm spending so much time investigating things that I've lost a lot of points. But I don't care; I'm so lost in awe at the (semi-lucidly) "sheer detail of this RPG that Riot has bestowed upon us / me." I leave the hammer alone for now and do some more investigating as to how I could steal it. I think I talk to Miss Fortune again but I can't remember.
Eventually I just go back up to the room and take it off the table. Immediately Gankplank / Pirate Gragas, Twitch, and the other champions and players in the room start a fight with me. But when I hold that heavy hammer in my hands, everything looks different. Things are even darker and I see purple spirits and ghosts everywhere; creatures from The Void most likely. I'm running down the stairs and I know I'm being chased by angry champions but I don't care. Somehow I know they don't really want to mess with me while I'm holding this hammer. They don't know that I actually have NO idea how to use it. I try my best to ignore the hallucinations I'm seeing while carrying the hammer and deliver it to Captain Ullrig. He pays me very well in Krakens.
I spend the rest of the dream wandering around Bilgewater. Every place I visit becoms more and more elaborate and ornate. The dream ends when I'm somehow in Summoner's Rift and there is a giant statue of Volibear. As soon as I look at it, I see the same hallucinations as I did when I was holding that magic hammer. But I also see Vel'Koz' giant eye and no matter where I look it fills most of my vision. Much like the Eye of Sauron in Lord of the Rings. I just can't look away from Vel'Koz. I wake up and start writing.
