Is Yasuo's name change still canon?

I've noticed his new lore doesn't mention that the sword school changed his name. Has he always been Yasuo, then?

Maybe it was his childhood name. He's got a rather samurai-type feel to him, and samurai often had a practice whereby they'd take a new name upon reaching adulthood.
