What is the cost of Ez's amulet now?

I always liked the idea of Ezreal being willing to pay the price for what he wanted. It kept him from being unbearably perfect. Want to quit school, explore the world, and discover the undiscovered? You'll have to give up your magic. Want to get your magic back without having to lose the life you love? You'll have to commit to random interruptions. In the old lore, Ez decided both times that the cost was worth the gain. But in the update, there's no longer a penalty for his amulet, so it feels like he got the best of both worlds. Granted, he finds he now has an "embarrassing" reputation as a mage hero, but what's that compared to being yanked into combat right in the middle of deciphering some ancient Freljordian inscription? (Especially when it's me summoning him?)

The amulet is from Shurima -- could he be in Shurima's debt now? Does the amulet come with some obligation? Some role? Is there a prophecy about it that he's fated to fulfill? And did he know about the potential cost when he took it? (Did he take it? Did it take him?)

I know his new lore is just a sketch. I like that it's short, because it just screams work-in-progress; more to come; stay tuned. What I is hope that when the Riot lore team do update his lore, they won't drop the "count the cost" aspect, because to me that's the most compelling aspect of Ezreal's character.

Yep, he certainly used to be more interesting...

Interesting, ever since the whole lore retcon they have ALOT of things to fix, hell half of the champions wouldn't be there if the institute of war is gone

The amulet is Taric's, and when Ezreal gets the summon, he is whisked to Taric's side to fight evil in the name of love/the moon/crystal power.

You had me at this.

Now I can't stop thinking of the amulet phasing him out of existence periodically. Instead of being summoned, he just sits around in nothingness for ~40 minutes at random times. A bit boring, but it feels fitting; y'know, since Riot says all we have to do is take the IoW out of stories. Since the IoW is now about as real as Jaden Smith's eyes, he gets summoned to nowhere.

It'll give Ezreal time to contemplate things, like white meat raptor legs, why he exists at all as a fictional character, or if beings in ethereal stasis can fap.

It's a glove, maybe the cost is that if he Q'd by mistake at the wrong time he could end up as a falsetto.

So one thing I would like to know is

  1. if it is now shurimian then why arent nasus, renekton, and azir wielding such weapons, ezreals weapon is way more advanced then any of theirs
  2. are there other weapon forms of the gauntlet? Since ezreals gauntlet is a bow and arrow in essence are there sword versions of it (imagine mass effect) or how about spear versions?
2.1: Is it possible that ezreals gauntlet actually has access to the other weapon forms, he just doesnt know how to use them?

My guess is that he has some sort of obligation to Azir. Sort of like the Institute except now Azir can call upon him at ANY time to serve as his champion, warrior or otherwise.
