Disappointed with Urf the Nami-tee and especially Order of the banana Soraka

After being excited for the april fools skins, I was pleasantly surprised by Nasus, Amumu and Udyr (3 champions I do not play). They are all super silly and awesome, but I feel like the skin design team at riot is afraid to make the girls less sexy or cute that we got two girls in very generic costumes that weren't particularly humorous or that festive. Nami's urf skin is the least recognizable of all the Urf skins and just looks like she's wearing a fur coat. Soraka just looks like a standard sexy beach girl...

Why is Riot so afraid of giving the girls truly silly outfits? Why not put Soraka in an actual banana suit (PBJ time style), or at least make her staff more recognizable? or put a full bunch of bananas on her head? Why not make Nami's spatula more recognizable and silly. or make her costume look less like stylish winter wear and more like an actual costume... The hat is nice though.

Nami's skin isn't a problem, but just shines a light on the willingness to take male costumes in a much more comical direction. Other than Morgana's baker skin, all the other skins are sexy, or mysterious, or badass, or cute...but if they go for humorous they're never willing to take it far enough to actually be as amusing as they're willing to take the women.

It's a problem with female design in general. Men are X, but the equivalent woman is always "sexy X". Some of League's female champions are less sexualized than others, but even Leona is still conventionally attractive (in a way that includes noodle arms, because heaven forbid a woman have muscles).

I like the nami skin. Its the one I use when I play her. I really don't understand what you mean when by it not being funny. I love the skin and think its hilarious. Her skin is more based off the pun with her name so its not really trying to be a WW style skin where he is literally wearing urf

The reason is silhouettes and framing. If you put sorka in a banna suit, it does not look like sorka. How would you know its sorka? THe reason the morg skin gets away with looking the way it does is cause it still looks like morg. The wings are there, the long dress is there, its still morg.

Yes the uyder skin breaks the silhouette rule but it makes up for it in framing. If you know uydr your going to understand what that skin is doing. Hell i would argue that the not uydr skin gives a better read than any of his others skins.
