8/26 PBE Update

So, with this new file on PBE, someone was bound to make theories on the board about what this could be. Me being me and liking making theories, here's my thoughts in what this could be.

1: Champion teaser. Things like this has happened before, with champs like Tahm (Whenever you laughed in river he laughed back) 1.1: Ao Shin- Here's why Ithonk this could be Ao Shin. He's been talked about for months, and now teenage Riot desided to bring him out from the junk pile under the bed months after 'cleaning' their room and decided to show it to their friends (us). Also, the file is sort of looks like a tornado, and Ao Shin was supposed to be a storm god of sorts, so it would also makes sense. But it still doesn't explain the 'They are Coming'. 1.2: The Person That Killed Yasuo's Elder (KYE, we'll call him)- This goes back to the tornado symbol, which could reference the wind technique used to kill the elder. This could explain the 'they are coming' with Ionia coming after him (maybe they'll make it so Ionia found out the true killer or idk' that's not part of my theory here) 1.3: Shadow Isles- I think less of the theory because I don't think they'd bring a SI champ out before the Harrowing, but it could explain the 'They are Coming', with Harrowing actually coming up. Plus, the post linked is called 'Face Your Demons', and SI is fairly demonic. But so is... 1.4: Void Guy (Helmet Bro?)- Again more tieing in to the 'They are Coming' and demon stuff, but that's all the proof for that. 1.5: All of the above are wrong- And I'm stupid.

2- Event- This is less likely to me because I don't think they'd tease an event through this, but theory anyways. 2.1: Tieing in to a champ release- Events have been tied in to champ releases (Lissandra) so it could happen again. 2.2: Harrowing- Too early but still a chance 2.3: All of the above are wrong- And I'm stupid.

There are 3 other "theories" that i have heard:

Bard Another Celestial Spirit... or something related with the celestial spirits... that sounds and effect seems similar to Bard , Soraka and even Veigar spells.

Lulu Something related with the Glade.

Lissandra The Watchers.

... or More skins

So I personally recon that this is something celestial, because the sounds and the effects remind me of the abilities of Soraka and Bard in a way. In truth I also think nothing else in League looks like this.

  • Ao Shin? Well where's the lightning? It doesn't sound very storm related, and the icon is too abstract to determine if it represents a storm or tempest.

  • The Elder's Murderer? I don't see where you get this from...but honestly with so little here I can't dispute. Maybe?

  • Shadow Isles? Not the right colour scheme in the visuals, not very spectral or deathly and not very spectral sounding either. It seems way more lively than anything from the Shadow Isles.

  • Void? Not enough purple, and also a lack of sound based and visual cohesion with void stuff; it's very electrical and alien coming from the void, this is very spacey and almost bubbley.

  • You didn't mention it but I'm gonna, Frozen Watchers? Where's the ice? No where that's where!

So I feel like this could be something celestial, potentially more on the spacey side of things; Soraka and Bard are very star related, cosmic power related, where as I see this as more spacey, but still mystical. A different kind of power but with a similar origin. This is of course mostly conjecture though and it really could be anything, and I'm, certainly not expecting a teaser until patch 5.18's close to shipping.

Hey, with the SI idea, doesn't the swirls remind you of one of the summoner icons? Or is that just my imagination?

Honestly I think the celestials or Glade theory sound the most promising,simply because the sound effect doesn't fit the void or the shadow isles at all(but well it is possible that we get an actually kinda lighthearted champion from them,so who knows).

I also think that this is indeed a champion teaser,as it reminds me of bards teaser,where his symbols appeared on SR. So it will most likely go this way: Patch V5.17 gives us that symbol After patch V5.18 is released they'll reveal the next champion,who will be released in V5.19

This would fit with Riots statement that 5.17&18 will be largely focused on balancing.

"THey are coming" sounds like the Infernal Spawn of Evil and the Infernal Spawn of Infernal Spawn of Evil to me!

So, Ao Shin is a good void creature that was killed and transformed to undead by the shadow isles, so killed the ionian elder.

Hey, isn't it possible that the new champion to be from the Mt. Targon?We know that there are at least 3 factions in there: 1.The War Faction and there we have Pantheon 2.The Sun Faction and there we have Leona 3.The Moon Faction and there we have Diana

SO isn't it possible that the new champion might represent the stars and the night?Or maybe they represent the sky itself(the barrier between earth and cosmos).Because there has been lots of void creature making their way into Runeterra.So my theory is that some type of guardians that has been sleeping in Mt. Targon is going to awaken because of the void and maybe because of Ice Witch and Shadow Isle.

Another theory that's been looked at is (as was stated above), another Celestial champion. Frozen Watchers? Well, it is coming into the colder Seasons. Harrowing? Well, it is getting pretty close to Halloween. Darkin? It would be a nice way to slot in an Aatrox revamp/rework with all of the recent changes to Bruiser/Tank/'Juggernaut' items.

But there are so many possibilities in the LoL Universe.
