Champs(by lore) No Longer Exists

So! Been a while since the entire summoner, institute, whatever is no longer around. Its kinda saddening how many of champions are only around BECAUSE of the institute of war and very few of them have not gotten their lore reworked.

Nocturne and Fiddlesticks being some of the biggest examples.

Who else's lore got butt-fucked due to this retcon and how bad?

I really think the old lore made MUCH more sense. it should still be brought back or maybe a slight change to resemble the old lore.

it might have made more sense, but it really limited the characters that could be allowed in the game and removing it gave so much creative freedom to da crew and allowed champions like kindred bard and tahm kench to exist in the game without breaking it in half

with that in mind i think it was a good decision to get rid of it

also because, like, the old lore was, like, stupid

Bard: Joined for ineffable Bard reasons. oboe noises Tahm: He's looking to cut some deals with the world's movers and shakers. Kindred: The constant demise and resurrection on the Rift caused a snarl in the fabric of death itself, and a power surge from a damaged Nexus caused this anomaly to manifest as a physical aspect of death. Namely Lamb and Wolf.

Easy peasy.

The old lore provided a compelling framework for the game's setting. The fact League had a story was one of the things that I liked most about it coming over from DotA back in the beta days. Riot could have done so much more by giving us as Summoner's a real stake in the game world and its events.

Why would Tahm kench do that?I mean he seems to be a demon who can be wherever he wants, why would he display his dangerous side to everyone, pretty much ruining all his credibility?

Also how would you do Rek'Sai without imprisoning her?

Orianna got it bad

Nah, not really. The core of her theme was always "robot girl built to replace a daughter lost to a (magical) accident." The League was a driving force, but it is far from irreplaceable.
