The new Riven shortstory is so beautiful, heartwarming, and so well written! I started maining Riven 2 years ago, and I just LOVE Riven, and after reading the story I LOVE RIVEN EVEN MORE. Please Ariel Lawrence WE WANT MORE RIVEN STORIES.

I'm currently a bit triggered by editing my narration for chapter 2 xD BUT I TOTALLY HAVE TO AGREE!!!
Chapter 1 sucked me into that field, Chapter 2 fired me up and Chapter 3 teared me up a little, really great work and absolutely amazed by the writing.
Thermal Kitten should work on more, waaaaaay more stories for the universe page!!!
for me lore is a huge part of how much i enjoy playing a game and its characters and dang now i really wanna play some yasuo and riven again
Ariel did an amazing job fleshing Riven's character out in this. i could feel her remorse and her pain, how broken she is! the way she looked at the old couple with hope. deep down she wish for them to be her family. it even mentioned it in the story,a silver of hope that somehow they accept her.
When no one came to say peace with her...well,that was heartbreaking! she even think of herself as selfish just because she wants someone to sit with her until her time is up! i can relate to that.
Riven was always one of my favourites! Thank you Ariel!
These 3 chapters were amazing indeed! Btw, I started playing on 2016, i remember i unlocked the rotation thing the first day i played and Riven was there, my love towards her started just the first day i played League of Legends
Honestly this comic was so good I wish Riot would create them for every single champion. Lore releases like those on a bi-weekly or monthly basis would be AMAZING.
Honestly, I don't really like how the elder's death was an accident. It basically absolves Riven of any responsibility and makes Yasuo look like even more of an idiot than he already did.
It feels like that weird thing they did to TF and Graves where they completely overturned their backstory in a single story.
This lore felt so much more meaningful than the other pieces we get since characters actually moved forward in the timeline. Will be looking forward to seeing more stories like this that give progression to the lore. I want to see how Zed, Syndra and Jhin interact with this newly fleshed out Ionia.

I'm really hoping this is just RIOT deciding to turn back the clock regarding Riven's old lore. Her continued love for Noxus and its Ideals, along with her desire to save them and fight for them on her own terms were major parts of her character. I really hope subsequent stories will focus on her regaining these aspects of who she was, as they added a great deal of character complexity and made her interesting. You guys have already wasted the treasure trove op potential that was Xerath and Karthus by replacing them with shallow mockeries of who they once were - replaced by impostors using their names and wearing their skin. It's a state I'm really hoping Riven isn't reduced to.
You guys got it right with Swain. Got it right with Nasus. Almost got it right with Renekton - his ascension was the peak, and it was all downhill from there, sadly.
Yeah. I love the Yasuo / Riven story. I was so well done. Love the character development, the focus on overcoming bad actions instead of being an edgelord
