A good read/site for learning character design basics?

Hi! I was wondering, can anyone help me finding some nice books/sites/courses on how to start a character design (personality, background, physical look and so on)?

Im a n00b in all that areas (Electronic engineer by career) but this field just keeps calling me (i'm a lore addict, for example u_u)

I think all that depends on what kind(s) of character(s) you want to design. Out of boredom I sometimes google for such things and often ended on the website WritersDigest. There could be some of the things you are looking for, but it is more focussed on writing a story, than just designing a character. From my own experiences (which aren't either good nor probably useful, I have never written anything bigger than the stories for my champion concepts) it is important of how the character interacts with the world he is in: What would happen if he does this?/would he even do this?/whatever

First, you need a character. Just fill in these lines and you will be set. Sorry that it is in French, I can only suggest you Google Translate to help you.
