With the new champion being released soon to my knowledge it marks the 14th champion in a row to be from Runeterra, The last being Vel'koz (Void champ). I guess arguably Aurelian isn't but for the most part the last 14 have been from 'this plane of existence'. Now as a main i have to ask, when will we learn more about his realm? will there be more champions arising from the shadows? or is the the pool restricted to the void and Runeterra now? Even the Darkin's have had nothing said about them. I love the focus on Shurima, but what is happening in the darkness >:D

Bard and Aurelion Sol aren't from Runeterra, and neither is Rek'Sai. Vel'Koz certainly wasn't the most recent non-native Runeterran champion.

Nocturne is probably from Shadow Isles.

We don't know where Nocturne came from(and since his lore needs a retcon,we'll likely never know it),so we don't even know if there is some sort of shadow realm at all(the same goes for Shaco too).

He might be just an evil spirit or demon from runeterra.

I still like the theory of Nocturne being one of those evil spirits from Ionia.

The land with so many spirits that are so sensitive that almost anything can cause then to go on a rampage. Ionia is just a ticking time bomb.
