How Does Lux's Q (Light Binding) Work In Lore?

Just something that's been bothering me for a while. The rest of her spells make some canonical sense; her W distorts the light around whoever she's shielding to make it harder for enemies to hit them accurately, essentially giving them a shield. Her E distorts light to confuse and slow people, possibly slowing their metabolism, before exploding. Her R is literally just a laser (you can even see the heat distortion after it's been used). But how does her Q, which prevents people from moving entirely, make sense in lore?

I remember pre-retcon that Lux's Q was the result of her reverse-engineering Morgana's Q, because Morgana was allied with Noxus at that time. With the retcon though there's no reason to believe that Morgana and Lux even know each other exist.

Light consists of oscillating electric and magnetic fields. If Lux is capable of manipulating these fields then she could theoretically create a temporary potential well that forces any charged matter towards its centre, thus creating a "cage" that can not be escaped without expending an enormous amount of energy.

Or she could just concentrate the energy of the light so densely that it warps space-time around it, creating an unpassable event horizon. However, this might have the slightly undesirable side effect of instantly plunging Runeterra into a black hole.

Or she could manipulate the light entering her enemies eyes to create an illusion that they are in a narrow space such as a coffin surrounded by angry wasps. In this case the target would actually be capable of moving, but they would think that they are trapped, and so wouldn't try.

Or she could blast her target with concentrated high-frequency gamma rays, inducing tumorous mutations in their muscles and rendering them unable to move.

I may have overthought this slightly.

Hard-light construct. Read Green Lantern comics for further information.

Well, her R is just a beam of light so hot that burns. I wouldn't be surprised if her Q was just a cell with bars made of that hyper heated condensated light.

Did you kno that a shadow actually weights a Lil bit less than the lighted areas around it? This it's becuase light actually pushes on the objects it hits slightly. Lux could be increasing the strength that the light is pushing on objects.

Pretty sure it's just hard light. It's a common fantasy trope - solidified light (even though it makes no scientific sense). It's in both DC and Marvel comics, it's in Steven Universe, and so on.

"Hard light" is a popular trope in science fiction. Magic doesn't usually have any explanation beyond "because it looks cool."

Lux burns you ankles so you can't run

Or she plays a game of "The floor is lava"

Seriously I just assume all magic in League is the same but appears as different elements. Morg Q and Lux Q are both just binding spells that trap the person, preventing them from walking but they can turn in place, it's just that one appears black and simple while another is bright and complex, reflecting their owners.

I figured it's not so much a cage, but really bright, intense light that renders people unable to see and in such pain that they can't really move. Think like a flash-bang, without the bang.

Or, you know, it's a video game and not everything has to make sense.

Well if you look at the icon, it's what appears to be rope made of light just trapping the targets feet. Which makes sense from a fantasy perspective since solid light is a fairly popular trope.
