Is Ornn a Dwarf Fortress reference?

Long story short I'm a very big Dwarf Fortress fan and have been an avid player for a long time now. I've noticed Ornn's items are called 'Masterworks', which is also the name of items of exceptional craftsmanship in DF. It should go without question that Ornn's entire theme of a dwarfy blacksmith god who's title is "The Fire below the Mountain" fits exceedingly well with DF's theme, and, with the upcoming big update to DF including procedural religions and gods, you could very well end up with a deity exactly like Ornn. Just wondering if Ornn was at all a nod to Dwarf Fortress. Thanks.

Ornn is a forge-god in a region inspired by norse mythology, so of course he'd take some characteristics of dwarfs, because those themes go hand in hand.

And honestly calling upgraded weapons "masterworks" isn't really that original, I mean what else would you call them?

So I'd say no, he likely isn't a reference to Dwarf fortress, they are simply both inspired by the concept of forging in norse mythology.

Dwarfs maybe... But DF? Do anyone even know that this game exist? Because I didn't 😅
